Product Description
DT-100RS Serial Trigger – Reliable Control for Legacy POS Systems
The MAKEN DT-100RS is a dedicated serial trigger (driver box) designed to enable automatic, software-controlled cash drawer operation through a standard RS-232 serial interface. It serves as an essential bridge, converting electronic signals from a POS terminal, computer, or industrial controller via a DB9 serial port into the specific pulse required to activate the cash drawer's opening mechanism.
This compact device connects directly between the host system and the cash drawer, typically via the drawer's RJ11/12 interface. Without the DT-100RS or a similar trigger, a cash drawer can only be opened manually with a key. The DT-100RS is particularly well-suited for traditional cash registers, legacy POS systems, and industrial equipment that rely on serial communication. While it requires configuration of parameters such as baud rate, it offers high stability and reliable performance in professional environments. The device is typically powered via USB bus, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
